Since the first man dug a pit lined with spikes and covered it with vines and branches, the "unmanned" infliction of death has existed. The deliberately balanced rocks and death traps within ancient tombs are a testament to mankind's genius for wiping out his own kind.
The use of "technology" to bridge the gap, so that you don't have to go back and check if it has worked or not, has existed since a man tied a piece of string around a limb so that a prompt jerk from the apparatus of death indicated that it had occurred, has been well refined over the last 100 years through wired and wireless communications together with a satisfyingly devastating "boom" some miles away.
We have all seen "video game" footage of REAL soldiers REALLY dying under night vision by use of remotely aimed machine guns.
A less sophisticated computer version of a remote controlled air-borne killing machine has been a possibility for over thirty years.
Remember the "Stealth" Bomber? The u.s. government consistently and resolutely denied its existence, and yet rumors, projections and "conspiracy theories" continued unabated. Eventually the "Stealth" Bomber was unveiled to the world, giving all the CT people a chance to jump up and down and say "we were right all along!!"
My question was "From what did this unveiling of a now outdated technology divert our attention?"
Before you fall to the ground in worship of the "Global Hawk", "Predator" and "Reaper", I suggest you ask yourself the same question.
